Welcome to the Scanning Probe Microscopy Laboratory at Jožef Stefan Institute
Our Scanning Probe Laboratory group is located at the Jožef Stefan Institute, department for Condensed Matter Physics (F5) in Ljubljana, Slovenia (Jamova 39). We are investigating the fascinating world of atoms and molecules using low-temperature scanning probe microscopy. More about our work can be found in the Research tab.
Some of our most recent work is based on imaging various superconductors and studying charge density waves (more in the Publications tab).
If you are a student wishing to join us as part of student work or a seminar, please do not hesitate to contact dr. Erik Zupanič (erik.zupanic@ijs.si) or dr. Marion van Midden Mavrič (marion.vanmidden.mavric@ijs.si). Some seminar topics as well as student projects can be found in the tab Open positions.
We are also working on the first cold atoms experiments in Slovenia, as part of the Cold atom lab.
